House Rules

We hope you enjoy the mountains and our family home as much as we do. We take great pride in offering our guests a clean and well-maintained cabin. Please treat it with respect and leave it in the same condition you found it.

  1. This is a “no shoe” home. Please leave your shoes in the mudroom and snow gear and equipment on the deck.

  2. Please be respectful of our neighbors. Voices carry and parties are NOT allowed. The City’s quiet hours are 10pm - 7am (no outdoor activities after 10pm). Citations will be issued for noise disturbances and exceeding occupancy and parking limits. Refunds will not be granted due to eviction.

  3. Maximum # of occupants: 8 (including children). Maximum # of cars: 3. No parking on the streets.

  4. No smoking or vaping in the house or anywhere on the property.

  5. No pets, out of respect for people with allergies.

  6. Please set heater at a minimum of 55 degrees. Do not turn off. Any lower and the pipes will freeze and you will be liable for damages.

  7. Please do not burn any candles anywhere on the property.

  8. Please do not heat any food, including marshmallows/s’mores, in the fireplace or outdoor firepit. Doing so in the firepit will cause the heating element to get clogged, and use in either can result in additional cleaning/repair fees. A small portable tabletop fire bowl is provided for s’mores. Please see additional instructions for use.

  9. Please dispose of ashes from the fireplace in the provided metal ash can (located outside the front door). DO NOT DUMP ASHES IN ANY OTHER RECEPTACLE. If you cannot find the metal ash can, please do NOT remove ashes. The cleaners will dispose of the ashes properly.

  10. Children may not be left unattended on the deck and especially not in or near the hot tub.

  11. Please keep the hot tub cover on when not in use. Do not put anything in the hot tub, including but not limited to, bubble bath, soaps and oils. If the hot tub requires a drain and fill after your stay, you may be charged a MINIMUM of $60 plus any other service or repairs required.

  12. Open fires are PROHIBITED throughout Big Bear Valley. Do not build any outdoor fires that create embers.

  13. All trash must be taken to Summit Real Estate at 42164 Big Bear Blvd, at the Von’s shopping center. Please use the dumpsters marked “GUEST”. Removing all trash from the premises is a requirement for all short-term rentals in Big Bear City. No trash can be left at the property.

  14. Please do not rearrange furniture, nor attempt to open locked cabinets and doors. Please do not remove anything from the interior or exterior of the home.

Remember you are a guest of a privately owned home. Please be respectful of the owners and their property at all times. Clean as you go, and leave it better than when you arrived.

Thank you for your cooperation. Failure to comply with any of the house rules and/or the City/County ordinances may result in EVICTION from the home WITHOUT a refund and incur fines imposed by the City/County and/or Summit Real Estate Enterprises.
